Sachipar: A Khandua Saree with crisscrossing lines across the body. This is again one of those most popular designs from #odishaikat that has seen generations through, but still very much in trend. The design is simple, but appeals to masses, because checks are always in! In this case the lines are dainty and gel with the body without standing out too much giving it a subtle vibe. The border as with most Khandua sarees from #Nuapatna has #ikkat motifs sandwiched between two layers.

This particular piece is made with pure silk . The color is a lovely deep pink, another new addition to the ever growing family oof sachipar silks with a perfectly balanced double border, one in red, and one in black combined with the red temples ( phoda kumbha ) . Do notice the animal motifs on the pallu. The light weight silk (about 35 0gms) makes it easy to wear and take care of. So definitely one of those silks that get to see the daylight often. This saree does not have a blouse piece.
