Mangalagiri Handloom

Mangalagiri Handloom

Named after the town it originates from, a town in Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh; also the abode of Lord Narasimha, Mangalagiri Sarees are traditionally used by the devotees for devotional purposes.

Mangalagiri sarees have a unique distinctive characteristic feature such as zari on the border and without any woven butas / designs on the body. Woven from silk and cottons, these pure handloom sarees are very light weight and comfortable to wear. Even though traditionally nizam border is synonymous to Mangalagiri Sarees, the weaving technique has evolved a lot with time incorporating different types of borders as well as without border.
